Turning Adversity and Passion Into A Great Product
About a year ago, I was preparing for the much anticipated arrival of my first baby girl. To say I was excited and nervous was an understatement. I was looking forward to welcoming baby girl into my wonderful family. Everyone embraced us, and the pregnancy progressed happily and healthily.
I'll spare all of the specifics-needless to say, I experienced the worst loss of my life. At my last appointment, I was told that baby girl didn't have a heartbeat. I went throughout my whole pregnancy feeling and seeing baby girl move, and heard her heartbeat numerous times, but today she'd gained her wings. To say I was distraught is an understatement. I was devasted. I felt all of the expected emotions, and asked all the questions-why being the most prominent.
The days and months after the loss, I carried on as best as I could. Therapy and tea were two constants throughout the process. My village continued to lift me up in prayer and ensured that I was busy. One day as I was reading and sipping on a cup of tea, I had an epiphany. I should make tea-my own special blend. As I researched the different herbs, their properties, and synergy, I decided to make a blend that reminded me of my baby girl. Something I could have to remind me of her spirit. From that, Nyla's Blend was born. After that day, I continued researching and making blends.
I wanted to share my story because many people encounter great adversity. However, it's up to you whether you allow that adversity to negatively impact your life.
Nyla's Garden and Apothecary is dedicated to the memory of my beauty angel baby girl Nyla Renee'. It is my hope that this venture honors her in every way possible. Every blend is crafted with love and care, and I hope she is proud.
